Work in Progress - Manuals and Researching (Mircom and DSC panel, OpenGN)

Description:
Our next objective is to connect Fire alarm and card access system (DSC, Mircom) to OpenGN platform. By doing so we can check and access the status of each panel zones when a fire trigger comes.
Mircom FX2000
The knowledge that we have to Mircoms system and platform are lacking. So the group agreed to a suggestion that each of us will do critical research. And on Tuesday, group will meet up to discuss research material and ideas on.

Progress Report - Week 2

Description:
After the lecture and confirmation to which projects the students are assign to, the groups made meet up and discuss the project. For our group, we took a break and discuss what will be done for the first week.
Mircom Fx-320
Mircom Fire and Card access panels are already put to stations in C527. But two more station remain to be done. The group agreed to work on installation of two more station of Mircom Fire alarm panel in C527 for additional system to work on. The work are to install and wire the motion sensor, smoke detector, and fire alarm trigger to the board.
While waiting for materials to work on, we settle to discuss the manuals of the panels we were working on.






Selection of Capstone Project 2019 - Week 1

Mircom OpenGN Platform
2019/01/08

Description 
Mircom has been a long time supporter of our Building Automation program and has hired several of our students over the past years as well as integrating some of our ideas on to their OpenGN platform. This project will continue to work with OpenGN to display information on the status of the connected building systems such as Fire and Card Access panels as well as research other building systems that can be added to the platform. Integration with BIM will also be investigated.

Deliverables:
1. Re-commission existing Fire and Card Access panels using the latest OpenGN software platform. 2. Explore the Digital Twin features of OpenGN and include the DSC alarm system.
3. Design a network connected I/O interface that can be used to display status points of the devices connected to it. (Example, if the room is occupied or lights are on or off)
4. Connect other labs on the 5th floor to OpenGN.
